Commissioning an Artwork

Some things to consider when commissioning a drawing or painting.

It is important to think about what it is you want and what scale you would like it to be. I have compiled a short list of things to consider and take you through the process of commissioning an Artwork.

  • Commissioning an Artwork is expensive. The process takes time, patience and skill which all contribute to the cost.

  • I work from photographs. I will ask you to send over a handful of images of the subject you would like painted or drawn.

  • We will select in consultation the image that will best suit being translated into an Artwork and we will decide on the surface you would like the work on (stretched canvas/linen/wood/paper etc.)

  • I will quote for the work.

  • Through the process I will keep you updated as much as you care to be and give you my best estimation for how long the work will take to complete or lead time.

  • Once complete I will arrange with you the delivery of your work. I take a lot of pride in hand delivering when and where I can.

Mounting & Framing

If desired I have contacts with framers in Oxfordshire and London. I use these places to have my own work framed too.

On commissioning an Artwork I will be happy to discuss your ideas for framing and refer you to the right people to suit both your vision and budget however small or grand. I’m passionate about the way things look and believe that choosing the right frame is often as important as the Artwork itself and key to showing it off whilst complementing its surroundings in the home, office, studio (wherever it may be hung).
